Problem behavior for children with autism across school and home settings; working with the school team to assess and treat problem behavior effectively.

Webinar Description

Children with and without autism can demonstrate challenging behaviors that parents, school staff and other caregivers often find difficult to understand or change. In this webinar, Dr. Barbin will provide attendees with an understanding of the reasons these behaviors occur, the functional assessment process and potential intervention strategies (e.g., Behavior Intervention Plans) that can be incorporated into the classroom and extended to the home setting for improvement. She will discuss ways to increase positive, replacement behaviors and practical application of evidence-based procedures. She will also discuss ways to support the child’s school team in developing an effective plan to pave the way for a successful school year.
