Behavioral Directions LLC headed to Minneapolis on 5/24/13 to present at the 2013 Association for Behavior Analysis Internation (ABAI) annual conference. The presentation titled “Short Term ABA Treatment for Children with Autism: Outcome and Parent Perception“is based on our 2012 summer clinic outcome data for participating students. Dr. Barbin shared that an average of 96% of student-specific programs showed marked change (skill improvement) and parent perception of outcome was quite favorable. The study is one of the few to demonstrate that even 3 weeks (6-8 hours/week) of sound ABA intervention for students with autism can be therapeutic. The presentation is co-authored by Lauren Ross Hawkins (Fairfax County Public Schools) and Stacey McIntyre (Ivymount School).
